Michel William is a Mozambican artist, guitarist, songwriter and music producer.
He is inspired and influenced by many artists of different genres, but falling mainly into reggae, ska, blues, funk and Marrabenta all of that combined makes his music flourish in a unique way.
Growing up he enjoyed hearing and interpreting songs from artists like James Blunt, Maroon 5, Tracy Chapman, Djavan, Caetano Veloso, Bob Marley, Michael Jackson, Avelino Mondlane just to name a few. He first started playing the piano around the age of ten but he only developed his songwriting skills when he started playing the guitar at 16 years old.
Although music and art, in general, was something his parents, specifically his mother didn’t encourage, that was the only way he could find to ease his mind and express himself.
“I believe that we, as human beings, need to be in harmony with the universe and with everyone around us. Equality, love, health, education, respect and balance are essential values to transcend the way society is living today leading us to our own destruction with wars, starvation and poisoning our planet.” Michel William
Michel William uses music as a way to bring us together so we can grow as one. So he sings not only for the passion for music but also for peace, for love, and for the elevation of our consciousness.
Life, people and love are his greatest inspirations.
